Boxes will ship every 3 months and include: 3 hardcover books and a bookmark.
The next box will ship in mid-June.
This will include a mix of Middle Grade, YA/Teen, and Adult literature from within the Afro-Diaspora, Indigenous community, and authors from other marginalized communities. We will be featuring banned books from over the last several decades.
This is a great way to explore banned books, why they have been banned in many states and/or in schools and to also explore why they should NOT be banned. #FREADom
An actionable step in co-conspirator ship can be standing up against books being banned that we deserve access to.
Often the experiences of various peoples renders discomfort with some readers. This gets conflated into literature being “offensive.” This is directly associated with fragility and wishing to continue suppressing less preferred identities and voices. This also effects the empathy that could expand from reading banned texts.
We stand with authors who are changing the world, affirming their identity, experiences, voice and that of tons of readers, tons of PEOPLE.
We stand with authors that are de-colonizing the book community.
